About
Qolab is a Madison, Wisconsin-based superconducting quantum computing company founded in 2022 by Dr. John Martinis, former Google Quantum AI lead scientist, and Dr. Robert McDermott from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The company secured over $16 million in Series A financing led by Octave Ventures with co-investment from Development Bank of Japan Inc., Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, and Phoenix Venture Partners to develop reliable, high-performance quantum processors.
December 2025: Deployed its superconducting qubit system at the Israeli Quantum Computing Center - the world's first facility outside Qolab's home lab to host their hardware.
Led by CEO Alan Ho, Qolab combines a physics-driven approach with a focus on qubit quality and practical hardware solutions, leveraging semiconductor fabrication tools and innovative scaling techniques. The company's mission is to develop utility-scale quantum computing technology that meets growing demand for reliable quantum processors.
