Microsemi
About
Microsemi (now part of Microchip Technology) is the world leader in timing and network synchronization systems for highly accurate distribution using GPS-based timing, IEEE 1588 (PTP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), Synchronous Ethernet, and DOCSIS timing. Microsemi acquired Symmetricom in 2013 for $230 million and was subsequently acquired by Microchip Technology in 2018 for $8.35 billion. The company's atomic clock products include the Chip-Scale Atomic Clock (CSAC-SA65) with operating temperatures from -10 to 70 degrees Celsius, 17 cubic centimeters in size, 35 grams weight, and only 120 milliwatts power. Microsemi's MHM-2020 hydrogen maser offers the highest stabilities for any commercially available clock, designed for 20-year operating life with 95% of masers deployed since 1999 still operational. Products support quantum computing, communications, aerospace and defense, IT infrastructure, financial services, and power utilities with end-to-end timing solutions.
