LAQCC

The Latin America Quantum Computing Center (LAQCC) is Brazil's first Center of Excellence in Quantum Computing dedicated to the business sector, founded on May 5, 2021, through partnership between Atos and SENAI CIMATEC in Salvador, Bahia. LAQCC promotes adoption of quantum technologies, provides training to build local quantum computing workforce, and encourages scientific research in chemistry, biology, and diverse areas. The center hosts Brazil's first Atos Quantum Learning Machine (CIMATEC KUATOMU), leveraging classic supercomputing hardware to simulate quantum systems and algorithms of up to 35 qubits. LAQCC enables business users to build technological roadmaps, conduct impact studies, investigate algorithms, and execute applied research projects. The partnership represents significant collaboration between French multinational IT company Atos and Brazil's leading education, research, and innovation institute SENAI CIMATEC to advance quantum computing capabilities across Latin America.
